Egypt's Exports to Latin America Doubled

In an analytical study conducted by the International Trade Point on Egypt's exports to Latin America in 2010, figures showed that in the period between 2009 and 2010, that trade volume rose to $ 3111 million dollar in 2010 compared to $ 2002 million in 2009 at a growth rate of 55%.

The study noted that Egypt's exports jumped to $ 373, 7 million in 2010 compared with $115, 6 million in 2009 stating that this tremendous jump was a result of direct efforts exerted by the Ministry of Industry and Foreign Trade to promote the Egyptian exports through opening new markets and boosting their existence in the actual markets for our exports.

The study also showed that Egypt's exports to certain countries in Latin America rose remarkably. Brazil is the best trade partner for Egypt as it accounted for 53% of the total of Egypt's exports to the countries of Latin America in 2010 about $ 198 million in 2010 compared to $ 45,5 million in 2009; the super phosphate fertilizer is one of the most important goods exported by Egypt to Brazil as it accounted for $ 22,9 million in 2010 compared to $ 1,12 million a year earlier; then followed by Fertilizer Urea in the amount of $ 17,1 million in 2010 compared to a year earlier; then followed by the spirit of turpentine in the amount of $ 14,5 million.

This is the first time to export this commodity to Brazil due to the efforts exerted by the Egyptian International Trade Point to provide exporting opportunities suitable for the Egyptian exporter and to open new markets for the Egyptian commodities. Chile is in the second place as it accounted for 19% of the total of Egypt's exports to the countries of Latin America. Our exports have significantly jumped in 2010 to reach $ 71,1 million compared to $ 2,3 million in 2009.
