Egyptian Minister of Industry and Trade Mahmud Eissa discussed bilateral cooperation and trade in the coming period with the Japanese ambassador to Cairo, Norihiro Okuda. Increasing bilateral economic relations and investments could enhance political cooperation between both countries, the Egyptian Minister said.
Eissa encouraged more Japanese investment in Egypt, especially after improving the Egyptian economic and security situations. The meeting tackled measures taken by the Egyptian government concerning Egyptian imports from Japan and coordination to exchange all information about the products' authenticity, Eissa noted.
Both sides agreed to hold meetings between representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade with Japanese Embassy officials to resolve the problems preventing Egypt from attracting more investments. Japan seeks more investments in Egypt, said Okuda. He added that Japan is ready to support Egypt in the coming period, especially in exchanging information technology.
