Yemen and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) discussed here the future economic and financial cooperation trends. During their meeting, Prime Minister Mohammed Salem Basindwa and IMF Regional Representative Ghazi Shbeikat reviewed the support for the general budget's financial and technical policies and achieving national economy's stabilization, including all processes to reduce the budget's deficit and inflation rates.
The current arrangements for the Yemen-IMF consultation session scheduled to be held in Sana'a. The Premier stressed the importance of realizing a balance between economic and financial policies to achieve the economic stability, pointing to the international and regional keenness on assisting Yemen in the economic, social and development areas. Basindwa valued highly the Fund's keenness on propping up the government's efforts to stabilizing economy and enhancing development in the country. The IMF official said that the meeting aimed to identify the possible means to help Yemen currently and in the future in the economic and financial areas. |
