Kuwait Municipality Chief Extols Tehran Visit

Director General of Kuwait Municipality Ahmed Hamad Al-Sabeeh praised here outcome of his visit to the Iranian capital and the urban development projects accomplished by Iran over the past years.

Al-Sabeeh described in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) before leaving Tehran the Kuwaiti delegation's visit to Tehran and his participation in the meetings as "productive." He expressed hope that the two countries hold joint specialized scientific meetings as well as exchanging of experiences and conducting joint research in construction projects on an ongoing basis between the member states.

He said the Kuwaiti delegation's participation in these meetings provide a good opportunity to exchange views in order to further enrich communication between the countries of the region and create a better environment for West Asia and Middle East countries. He explained that his visit came at the official invitation from the Mayor of Tehran, Mohammad Baqer to participate in meetings of the Executive Office and the Joint Council of the Organization of United Cities and Local Governments of the Middle East and West Asia, which concluded here Sunday.

He noted that the meeting discussed a number of working papers related to the development of bilateral relations and exchange of expertise to solve urban problems, chiefly transport and the environment as well as how to manage disasters and crises. The meeting also discussed many of the studies made by the delegates on the local managements and systems in their countries and how to manage the social, cultural, economic and financial crises as well as how to take advantage of information technology and geographic information system during crisis management.
