Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr arrived in Juba on 14/01/2012 as part of his six-leg tour of the Nile Basin countries. In Juba, the minister will hold talks with senior South Sudanese officials on ways to boost bilateral ties. The talks will tackle a proposal for setting up a joint committee for enhancing joint cooperation.
Amr is due in Khartoum. Sudanese Foreign Ministry spokesman al-Ebeid Moraweh has praised solid relations with Egypt and said that the visit by Egypt's top diplomat Amr will contribute to boosting economic cooperation. Moraweh, in press statements, said that the two sides will look into enhancing bilateral relations especially in the field of road infrastructures. On the other hand, president of the Democratic Republic of Congo Joseph Kabila received Foreign Minister Amr who delivered a verbal message from Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi, the Head of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, on ways to enhance bilateral ties. Speaking to MENA, Amr said he discussed with Kabila an Egyptian initiative for developing Nile Basin countries. The initiative calls for carrying out integrated development projects in the region countries. Amr said Kabila paid tribute to the initiative. |
