A round of official talks kicked off here between the State of Qatar led by HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al Thani and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan under Pakistani Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani.
Over the talks, the two sides reviewed relations between the two friendly countries and means of bolstering and developing them in the several domains. A set of other regional and international issues of mutual concern was also taken up. The talks were attended by a number of Their Excellencies the ministers, while attending on the Pakistani side were Their Excellencies the members of the accompanying delegation. HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister and the Pakistani Prime Minister witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on security cooperation between the interior ministries of the Governments of the State of Qatar and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan , a MoU on exporting Liquefied Gas from the State of Qatar to Pakistan ,an agreement in the legal domain between the governments of Qatar and Pakistan , a cooperation agreement on awqaf (islamic endowments) and islamic affairs between the governments of Qatar and Pakistan and a MoU between the Ministry of Energy and Industry of Qatar and the Ministry of Water and Energy of Pakistan for cooperation on developing electric and water energy . HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister and the Pakistani Prime Minister also witnessed the signing of a MoU for cooperation on organising of exhibitions between the governments of Qatar and Pakistan and a joint agreement on mutual administrative assistance for sound coordination of customs law to control and combat customs waste between the governments of Qatar and Pakistan. A red-carpet reception ceremony was accorded to the Pakistani Prime Minister. Then HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of the distinguished Pakistani guest and the accompanying delegation. The Pakistani Prime Minister arrived in Doha on a three-day official visit to Qatar. |
