CBE Remains Open for Contributions to Egypt’s Economy

The Ministry of Finance account at the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) allocated to receive contributions to boost Egypt's economy remains open, Minister Momtaz el Saed said on 16/02/2012.

The account has been fed over the past days with wide-ranging donations from citizens wishing to participate in strengthening their national economy at this critical time, he said.

The Minister said the government welcomes calls by various agencies to donate to Egypt's economy and help the government activate economic recovery plans. The CBE has been receiving donations at its branches throughout the country and at correspondent banks outside the country, he said.

Egyptian embassies and consulates were also informed of the account numbers to encourage Egyptian expatriates to join the national drive for a stronger economy, he added.
