Chinese investments and Egyptian-Chinese investment relations were discussed when Minister of Investment, Mahmoud Mohieldin met the new Egyptian ambassador to China, Ahmed Rizk. Chinese investments in Egypt improved considerably, with 822 companies with Chinese contributions.
The meeting discussed indicators of Chinese investments outflows and repercussions of the global financial crisis as well as means to promote investment opportunities in Egypt. Programs to support and encourage Chinese companies to invest in Egypt were covered.
Chinese Teda Egypt Company has signed a contract to take part in developing the special economic zone North West Suez Gulf on 19 July 2009. The company will develop one million square meters of the third sector of the northern part in North West Suez Gulf, achieving a considerable change in Chinese investments in Egypt.
