Prime Minister, Dr. Kamal Al-Ganzoury, held meeting on Damietta Containers, in attendance of Ministers of Planning and International Cooperation, General Secretary of the Cabinet of Ministers, Head of GAFI. The meeting tackled problems facing the project on establishment of containers terminal in Damietta to be carried by DIPCO of Kuwaiti investments, where Dr. Al-Ganzoury called for the necessity of solving their problems urgently and continue stopped work in the port.
Dr. Al-Ganzoury decreed formation of committee headed by Head of GAFI to review settlement of the company, and suggestions provided to continue work in the project where the committee shall present these suggestions within 10 days. The company pushed investments of USD 360 million, and the project will contribute in Egypt’s maritime points and increase trade movement between Egypt and the world. The project will set Damietta port as one of the largest ports in the Middle East region. Concerning statement by Dr. Al-Ganzoury in the People’s Assembly Council regarding USD 10 billion exited upon the revolution, the Minister of Planning stated that he meant legal exit of foreign investments and not smuggled ones as new spread in media authorities. Regarding foreign finance case in Egypt, the Minister said a new court will be delegated to follow-up on the case and Head of the Court will present detailed memorandum on reasons behind the court stepping down. |
