Qatar's state budget for the next fiscal year will be bigger than that of last year in spending on infrastructure, constructions, roads and the underground metro project, HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al Thani said on Wednesday. Speaking at a meeting of the Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, Bulgarian and Qatari businessmen, he also explained that the government would delay publishing next year's budget for two or three months in order to reorganize priorities.
The Qatari and Bulgarian sides have agreed that Qatar starts investments in Bulgaria with projects worth 100 million euros in the sectors of agriculture, tourism and infrastructure, he said. A Qatari team including experts in the three sectors and in energy will visit Bulgaria within a month to discuss cooperation in the aforesaid sectors, ahead of a visit to Bulgaria by HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister. HE Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim said Qatar has a real desire to invest in Bulgaria. "In the current circumstances we have to be cautious and be sure of what we are doing", he added. Qatar has proposed that Bulgaria stages an exhibition for Bulgarian products in Qatar, he said, pointing out that his talks with Boyko Borisov centered on ways of stepping up economic, political and social relations between the two countries. He noted that Borisov showed eagerness to promote bilateral cooperation to step up bilateral corporate investments. HE Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim noted that Bulgarian companies have a chance to compete in Qatar's transparent private and public sector. |
