Minister of Finance Dr. Momtaz El-Saeed on 23/03/2012 said that the Ministry of Finance agreed to provide EGP 5.32 million within the framework of completing allocations for the Nile Basin support initiative in order to implement a number of projects in the countries of the basin. The Minister noted that the ministries of foreign affairs, agriculture and land reclamation, water resources and irrigation, health and population and administrative development are following up implementation of such projects.
He added that the total amount allocated to the initiative reached EGP 5.74 million, saying that more funds are expected to be paid in the coming period. Minister Saeed made clear that the Ministry of Finance has provided the funds required by the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation to provide the vaccines for immunization of cattle within the government's efforts to combat the spread of foot and mouth disease. |
