The delegation of Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi(DED) concluded yesterday its official visit to the Chinese City of Shanghai to boost the joint economic and investment cooperation between the UAE and China. Headed by Nasser Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Head of the DED, the delegation members were briefed during their three-day tour about the investment opportunities and explored setting up of joint investments that would have positive impact on both economies.
The delegation includes: Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Board of Directors Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr Saif Sultan Al Nasseri, Acting Director of the Esnaad at Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Dr Suleiman Jassim, Chancellor of Zayed University, Abdullah Chedid, Vice President of Mubadala Aerospace and other senior officials. Al Suwaidi met with Shanghai Deputy Mayor Tu Guangshao, who stressed the significance of the recent visit of His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces to China. He added that the visit was successful and had ushered in a new phase of the economic and investment relations between the UAE and China. Al Suwaidi thanked the Chinese official for good reception and hospitality, indicating that there were plans to open new avenues in the areas of transport, communications, food and energy.
