3 Strategic Projects Between Egypt, Sudan

There will be a big boom in the Egyptian-Sudanese relations; represented in 3 strategic projects most notably in foodstuffs, agriculture and fuel areas. Planning and International Cooperation Minister Fayza Abul-Naga said on 9/4/2012 that Egypt and Sudan will sign shortly the framework of the strategic project on meat for meeting Egypt's needs of Sudanese meat directly from Darfur to Egypt to lower transport coasts.

This came after a meeting between Abul-Naga and her Sudanese counterpart Ishraqa Said Mahmoud. There is also a trend to unify customs duties and eliminate obstacles in this concern. Egypt and Sudan will start agricultural integration project in an attempt to secure food sufficiency, Abul-Naga added.

Minister of Agriculture Mohamed Reda Ismail said, "The ministry is ready to send 5,000 researchers to contribute in the development of agriculture in Sudan." Minister of Transport Galal el-Said said that a series of roads between the two countries will be completed by September 2012.
