Green Economy to Face Climate Change in Egypt

Minister of State for Environmental Affairs, Dr.Moustafa Hussein Kamel stressed the need to shift towards the green economy to stop degradation of natural resources and reduce the negative effects of climate change on the Arab countries.

This came during a meeting of Council of Arab Ministers of Environment hosted by Cairo to discuss and ratify the Arab declaration scheduled to be submitted to "Rio +20 Sustainable Development" conference.

The declaration covers achievements of the Arab region and political commitment towards achieving the sustainable development in the region. He pointed out that the green economy is a tool for achieving sustainable development, but not a substitute for it.
