The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted H.E. Temir Sariev, Kyrgyzstan Minister of Economy and Antitrust Policy, and his delegation seeking ways to strengthen economic relations with their country, at the Chamber head office on Thursday. The official delegation, which was in town to attend the Annual Investment Forum 2012, was received by H.E. Rashid Al Mazroei, Executive Committee Member, and H.E. Hamad Buamim, Director General, Dubai Chamber, as the two sides discussed new areas of cooperation, especially in the import-export sector. H.E. Temir Sariev, lauded the economic and infrastructural progress of Dubai which he stated has become a role model in the region. He called upon Dubai businesses to invest in his country’s hydro-electric projects, gold, alumunium and tourist industry as the country is a favourite tourist destination, he added.
In his welcome address, Al Mazroei called upon the delegation to benefit from Dubai’s open door policy, unconditional government support as well as the world-class infrastructural, logistics and financial services offered by the emirate which he said is a favourite re-export destination in the region. On his Part, Buamim expressed his willingness to host a Kyrgyzstan investment forum in Dubai which he said is a strategic destination for foreign investors offering access to a consumer base of over two billion people in the region as well as a base to advance their business interests in the regional market. He called upon the visiting minister and his delegation to support the emirate’s bid for hosting the Dubai Expo 2020 in the emirate which he said will go a long way in stimulating the business environment in the region as the expo brings added-value benefits to the society.
