Dr Adel Rhouma, General Secretary of the Egyptian- Qatari Business Council, noted to the direction of Qatari investments to the Egyptian market in recent times to become one of the first countries that have expanded in Egypt and has pumped new investments after the revolution of January 25, so as to obtain the investment opportunities available. He explained that Qatar is looking to invest in Egypt long ago as described by the Egyptian market as attractive for investment. “ Rhouma” said to "Ahram-gate" that the country aware of the importance of the Egyptian market and its resources such as human resources and power consumption, as well as benefit from the agreements signed between Egypt and other parties that contribute to grant concessions to these countries to pump investments in Egypt.
The General Secretary of the Egyptian-Qatari Council which is newly created assure on the role of the council, which started its activities through mutual visits between the two parties in the last year.
He added that the council was agreed to implement a number of projects in the two countries, which are being developed operational procedures for projects that have been agreed upon between the two sides to be applied to ground for the benefit of the two countries. “Rhouma” announce that Qatari direct investments to Egypt increase in the first half of fiscal year 2011/2012 for the same period of previous fiscal year while the Qatari investments in fiscal year 2010/2011 approximately 191.5 million compared to $ 70.4 million dollars in 2009/2010 and 53 million dollars in 2008/2009, he added that these indictors assure that the Qatari investments has increased in Egypt.
