Reviewing Situation of Various Projects

Prime Minister, Dr. Kamal Al-Ganzoury, held meeting to review situation of various projects attracting investment, in attendance of Ministers of Planning and Agriculture, Head of the General Authority for Investments and Free Zone (GAFI), and Head of the Agricultural Development Authority.

The meeting discussed investment contracts and incentives for some series projects in Egypt to guarantee the economic reform programme in Egypt, and GAFI Head stated that a contract was signed with IMF to start programme restudying investment steps in Egypt. It is worth noting that great improvement was witnessed in the investment rates where more than 2500 companies started in 15 governorates with Egyptian contribution 35%, Arab contribution 11%, and European investments 4%.

The coming month will witness signature of large project for petrochemicals with investments more than EGP 10 billion with Egyptian, Arab and European contribution. GAFI Head confirmed that a lot of investors from Arab countries were received the recent period, and investment rates start recovering to reach rates before the revolution.
