Saudi Company Injects New Investments

A Saudi company working in the field of agricultural investment assured that it will continue working in the Egyptian market, confirming pumping of more investments and increase their agricultural production through the addition of 6,500 acres to the area cultivated in “Toshka” project, which currently amounts to 4 thousand acres to meet the needs of local and international markets.

Daniel Leroy – Executive Director of the company- said that the plan's expansion of the company is going according to its schedule, and that the political events that pass by Egypt did not affect these plans, pointing out that he is optimistic the development of the Egyptian economy and stability, which broadly Egypt after the election of the new president.

He pointed that food comes in first place all over the world, pointing out that there is a significant investment would be pumped to the implementation of the plan target during coming few days, which include land reclamation and expansion in the cultivation of some crops such as vegetables and fruit, once you start to run water-pumping station through the last quarter of 2014, pointing out that the company is working on a design for the operation of the station.

He added that the company does not expand in the cultivation of vegetables and fruit only, but in the cultivation of crops that provide fodder, as well as the cultivation of grain, which is one of the crops that will provide new job opportunities for young people in the future, noting that the company provide housing and food for all workers in the project in “Toshka” as permanent workers have health insurance and traveling expenses and other benefits make paid relatively higher salaries in the Delta.

"Daniel" revealed that “Kadco” produce 800 tons of grapes per year, there is a plan to plant 60 acres more this year, new types grown in the early to prolong the season, explaining that it is exported about 600 tons of this production to the markets of the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium , Italy, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe, Sudan, with 200 tons is thrown to the needs of the local market.
