The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) recorded a significant growth during the first quarter of 2012, as the volume of trade reached nearly EGP 3.5 billion, with an increase of 36 percent compared to EGP 2.6 billion during the first quarter of 2011.
According to the latest statistics by Dubai Customs on Dubai's foreign trade during the first quarter of this year, the value of Dubai's imports from Egypt during the period from January to March this year reached EGP 886 million compared to EGP 794 million during the same period in 2011, while Dubai's exports to Egypt amounted to EGP 840 million compared to EGP 505 million in the first quarter of 2011.
