The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) issued its fourth annual report for December-February on the exports of cotton. The report said that cotton exports reached 355,000 metric Kantars during the period from December 2011 till February 2012 against 317,000 Kantars during the same period in 2011, scoring 12 percent increase, due to the lower prices of Egyptian cotton. Egypt imported 56,000 Kantars of cotton in 2012 against 317,000 Kantars in 2011 due to the increase of local cotton production.
