14 million civil Servants to Benefit from Increment

Minister of Finance Momtaz el Saeid said the costs of the social increment set by President Mohamed Morsy at 15% of the basic salary for the state civil servants and pensioners will reach LE 13 billion which are fully shouldered by the state general budget. He said six million state civil servants will benefit from the increment adding 8 million pensioners will also benefit from the increment.

Safwat el Nahhas, the Chairman of the Central Agency for Management and Organization said the new increment is not subject to any tax or fees adding it will be added to the base salary in 2017. He said the social increment of 2007 will be added to the base salary as of this month.

Meantime, the Ministry of manpower and Immigration has started coordination with businessmen and labour organization to sign an agreement on offering the social in crement to the private sector labour. Minister of Manpower Rifaat Hassan said the Ministry is seeking to conclude this agreement soon in order to announce the rules of cashing.
