H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region attended this evening at Al Nakheel Palace a ceremony to sign contract for development of a residential complex for citizens in Gyathi. The project entails construction of 786 villas at a totakl cost of AED 1.145 billion. The project is being developed in line with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Gen. H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. The contract was signed between Abu Dhabi General Services (Musanada) and the National Transport and Contracting Company and Al Dhabi Contracting Company.
Musanada appointed WS Atkins as the project consultant. The project will be developed through two contracts, the first is for construction of 433 residential units by Al Dhabi Contracting Company and the second for construction of 353 units by National Transport and Contracting Company. Work on the project is scheduled to begin this month and is due for completion in 20 months. The project will be built on a 420 hectares with each villa having 5 rooms and majlis on an area of 537 square meters. The complex will also have all associated facilities including mosques, shopping centres, schools and recreational facilities.
