200 Million Dollar Loan from the International Bank

Prime minister Dr Hisham Kandel witnessed the signing ceremony of an agreement between international bank, ministry of international cooperation, and the social fund for development, as the international bank will provide 200 million dollar ( loan ) to finance the program of intensive labor adopted by Egyptian government and implemented by social fund for development in cooperation with relevant provinces and ministers to provide job opportunities in infrastructure projects to decrease unemployment , The project includes 88 local contractors , NGOs . The program seeks to establish a network of social and economic safety of the provinces and villages most in need, through implementing 9000 small and micro projects with investments that reach 3 billion pound through short run strategy ( 18 month ), in addition to pumping small investments to support economic development, through clear vision that reflects Egyptian government priority in responding to the international bank strategy and other international financing institutions that follows short term strategy to develop the poorest provinces and villages.

The signing ceremony was attended by Anger Anderson world bank vice president, and Dr Ashraf Al Arabi minister of planning and international cooperation, Dr Ghada Waly secretary general of social development fund. It is expected to implement 1600 project in the field of infrastructure in all provinces in the following fields: • Protecting sides of river Nile 47km, amount of finance 22 million dollar. • Remove weeds from small canals 30,600 km, amount of finance 30 million dollar. • Paving of rural roads 100 km, amount of finance 11 million dollar. • Maintenance and restoration of school classes and nurseries 17000 class, amount of finance 37,5 million dollar. • Restoration of most-favored-family homes and public buildings, 7591 house in 6 provinces, amount of finance 47,5 million dollar. • Employment of intensive labor in reproductive health services, amount of finance 19,5 million dollar. • Disposal of solid waste, amount of finance 13 million dollar. • Employment of youth in village development activities in rural areas, amount of finance 4,5 million dollar. • Employment of youth in urban areas, amount of finance 12 million dollar.
