Prime Minister Hisham Qandil met on 06/09/2012 with managing director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Hildegard Gacek. The meeting, also attended by the finance and development and international cooperation ministers, took up boosting bilateral cooperation in the investment field, said Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Ashraf el-Arabi. El-Arabi added that the meeting focused on means of fostering private sector, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as well as companies working in the energy, agriculture and tourism fields.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will soon carry out several projects in Egypt, said Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Asharf al-Arabi. The projects will cover the fields of agriculture, energy, small- and medium-sized enterprises, banking, communications and transportation, added Arabi who is also serving as Egypt's governor to the EBRD. The minister received EBRD Managing Director Hildegard Gacek who affirmed the bank's keenness on supporting the Egyptian economy in the coming period.
