Egypt strongly desires comprehensive African economic integration that can pave the road to a free trade zone and a joint market, said Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade Hatem Saleh. This came during his word that was delivered on his behalf by head of the commercial negotiations sector Said Abdullah at the opening of the fifth forum on commerce between the three biggest African blocs Comesa, SADC and EATB. The Egyptian government is keen on expanding African economic cooperation to make the best use of the continent's resources, he said.
