Egypt's Trade Minister Hatem Saleh held bilateral talks with Ukrainian Ambassador to Egypt Yevgeny Kirilenko. The meeting took up means of increasing joint trade and investments in the next stage. In a press statement by the Trade Ministry on 3/2/2013, Saleh said that the talks tackled the importance of boosting trade ties between the two countries and activating the joint Egyptian-Ukrainian Committee for Economic and Scientific Cooperation.
There are big opportunities for cooperation in several domains especially in high-tech industries through establishing cooperating between the Egyptian private sector companies and Ukrainian businessmen, Saleh said. The minister reviewed the necessity of establishing a mechanism that guarantees the continuation of exporting Ukrainian wheat to Egypt as one of the strategic commodities that Egypt imports.
