Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade Eng. Hatem Saleh said the volume of Egypt's non-petroleum exports increased by 15 percent during the first five months of this year to record EGP65.498 billion compared to EGP56.8 during the same period last year.
This increase is due to a 20 percent surge in Egyptian exports to Arab countries, registering EGP 27 billion, up by EGP5 billion compared with the same period last year. This, besides a 17 percent increase in Egypt's exports to the European Union (registering EGP16.9 billion, up by EGP2.5 billion) and a 28 percent increase to Africa (registering EGP4.849 billion, up by EGP1.1 billion), according to the minister. |
