The government of Japan has decided to earmark for Yemen as humanitarian assistance a sum of USD 220,000 which will be donated to ICRC to contribute to mitigating the severe humanitarian situation.
In a press release by the Japanese embassy in Sana’a, the abovementioned Japanese assistance will be utilized to implement various assistance programs of ICRC, under the consideration of the humanitarian situation in Yemen. “It is worth mentioning that Japan contributed in March 2013 a sum of USD 47.2 million through UNDP, UNHCR, UNICEF, WFP and WHO to mitigate the dire humanitarian situation in Yemen, the embassy added. |
