Shaikh Abdullah bin Salim al Salmi, CEO of the Capital Market Authority (CMA), signed memorandums of understanding with the Financial Sector Supervisory Commission (CSSF) at the Duchy of Luxembourg, and another one with the Jordan Securities Commission in the presence of Yahya bin Said al Jabri, CEO of Duqm Special Economic Zone Authority and Chairman of the CMA Board, on the sidelines of the 38th Annual Conference of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) being held in Luxembourg.
The MoU which was signed from the Luxembourg side by J Guill, Director General of Financial Sector Supervisory Commission, involved protection of investors, security of stock markets by adopting a framework of cooperation, boosting the level of mutual understanding in the exchange of information and professional expertise. The MoU also provided for the training of human resources and cooperation between the stock markets in the two countries, among other things. The other MoU which was signed from the Jordanian side by Chairman of the Jordan Securities Commission Mohammed Saleh al Hourani is aimed at boosting cooperation, exchange of expertise, legislative and technical information between the two countries. It also aimed at providing training for staffers of capital market authorities. |
