The financial position of Banks, other than the Central Bank of Egypt, has increased by EGP216.6 billion, equaling an increase of 15.9%, in July-March 2012/2013 to record one trillion and 582 billion and 800 million Egyptian pound at the end of May 2013.
The net international reserves with the Central Bank of Egypt reached nearly USD 18.7 billion at the end of October 2013. The total deficit in the balance of payment has declined to reach USD 2.1 billion in July-March 2012/2013 against USD 11.2 billion in the same period of the previous year. The balance of trade deficit has declined by 2.7% to reach USD 23.8 billion in July-March 2012/2013 against USD 24.5 billion in the same period of the previous year. Remittances by Egyptians abroad have increased 7.9% to reach USD 13.8 billion. The value of Egypt’s foreign trade in July-March 2012/2013 has increased by 1.2% to reach USD 63.4 billion. |
