Egypt and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) signed on 29/12/2013 a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the air transport domain to increase air traffic and the movement of goods between the two countries.
The memo was signed by President of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority Mohammed Ibrahim Sharif and UAE Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority Saif al-Suwaidi. Civil Aviation Minister Abdel Aziz Fadel said that the memo will increase the operational capacity of the two national carriers as well as cargo flights. He said the ministry's strategy allows all Arab and foreign airlines to operate in Egyptian airports under the open sky system except Cairo Airport, which is restricted to bilateral agreements because of the underway development works at it. |
