Yemen and the Netherlands signed here a $ 5 million agreement to fund the Sana'a Basin water management project, which aims at conserving the water resources.
The agreement was signed by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Mohammad Al-Saadi and the Dutch ambassador to Yemen Jeroen Verheul, at the presence of the Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Farid Mujawar and Resident Representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization in Yemen (FAO) Dr. Salah Hajj Hassan. Following the signing, Dr. al-Saadi commended the contributions of the Dutch government to the development and stability in Yemen, pointing to the importance of the water use management project in Sana'a Basin. For his part, the Dutch ambassador renewed his country's keenness to continue to provide the necessary support to enhance the stability in Yemen, praising the level of cooperation between Yemen and the Netherlands. |
