Well-informed sources with the Suez Canal Authority said that within the coming few days, a new branch in the Suez Canal would be dug. The new branch would be al length of 34 kilometers.
In exclusive statements to Al-Ahram, the sources added that such a project would be a landmark in the navigational history of the Suez Canal, as it would raise its revenues to USD 13.5 billion by 2023. They noted the project would aim at shortening the waiting period for vessels in the lakes' area. |
