Head of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) Mohab Mamish said that the canal’s revenues in the US dollar during the period from January to August 2014 have increased by 8.9% while its revenues in the Egyptian pound during the same period have increased by 11.9%.
Mamish pointed out that the Suez Canal has achieved revenues at the value of USD 3.9 billion during the period from January to August 2014 compared with USD 3.3 billion in the same period last year. The SCA head explained that the authority will establish six tunnels to connect the eastern and western banks of the canal, which comes within the framework of the New Suez Canal corridor development project. He noted that the total costs reach nearly EGP 29 billion. |
