Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia, has called on businessmen and U.A.E. companies to enhance their investments in his country, especially in the fields of industry, energy, agriculture and infrastructure projects and the construction of airports and transport sector in general.
At a meeting in Abu Dhabi today, Mohammed Thani Murshid Al-Rumaithi, Chairman of the Federation of the U.A.E. Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in the presence of Abdullah bin Mohamemd Saeed Ghobash, Minister of State, Mr. Garibashvili said that his country has great natural potential and remarkable opportunities in these sectors and that they are available for businessmen and U.A.E. companies to take advantage of. He pointed out that the government offers distinctive incentives and guarantees to foreign investors and companies who contribute to supporting the process of overall economic development in Georgia. For his part, Al-Rumaithi emphasised the interest of U.A.E. businessmen and companies to invest in Georgia to take advantage of the investment environment and the available opportunities in detail in Georgia, and the procedures and facilities related to investment to encourage U.A.E. investors to enter the markets of Georgia in the fields of investment and project construction. Al-Rumaithi said that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Abu Dhabi welcomes the oportunities to establish joint investment projects with the Georgian side in order to boost economic cooperation and to open areas for investment in both countries, referring to the Abu Dhabi Chamber's full readiness to support Georgian industrial companies wishing to work and invest in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Al Rumaithi called on Georgian companies and industrial enterprises to take advantage of the investment opportunities available in the U.A.E.. He also stressed that the Emirate of Abu Dhabi is witnessing tremendous economic growth since becoming a regional hub for business, thanks to the fullness of its competitive business environment to attract investment from all over the world, and that the availability of this special hub, along with the friendly relations which bring Georgia and the United Arab Emirates together, provide a strong foundation to build firm economic partnerships. Mr. Al Rumathi said that the Emirate of Abu Dhabi is looking forward through its application and adoption of the highest international standards to enhance its competitiveness and economic advantages to keep up with the advanced economies in the world, which in turn will solidify the position of Abu Dhabi as a strong destination from which global companies can launch their regional and international operations. He called for the strengthening of cooperation between companies and institutions in Abu Dhabi and Georgia in light of the availability of investment opportunities and the diverse areas of economic cooperation in Abu Dhabi. The meeting was attended by a number of senior officials from both sides. |
