Following the outstanding success of Global Trade Development Week (GTDW), the world's largest international trade and investment facilitation event organised last month in Dubai, the UAE Ministry of Economy has announced that it will be the patron of the 2015 event. GTDW brings together 600 influential business and government leaders shaping world trade from over 90 countries.
Speaking on the successful evolution of GTDW, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, the UAE Minister of Economy, said, "Global Trade Development Week has grown to be a major international forum committed to increasing knowledge, capabilities and dialogue between government and private sector trade leaders. We here in the UAE are proud to have been part of the growth of this commendable event." GTDW 2015 will be organised on 26th-27th October next year, at the Ritz Carlton, DIFC Dubai. Andrew Keable, Managing Partner and Founder of the KW Group, the organisers of the event, adds, "We look forward to building on the success of GTDW 2014. This year’s event surpassed our expectations and securing the Ministry of Economy’s support for next year’s GTDW confirms that this event provides an essential platform for dynamic discussion on international trade, a issue of priority concern that unites businesses and governments around the world." Hailing the event as a forum for ‘frank and productive discussion", Sultan Al Mansouri has highlighted GTDW as a platform for "leaders to collaborate discuss and share best practice. Global Trade Development Week’s ambitious programme creates bilateral, regional and multilateral dialogue between governments and the private sector. Delegates take on the challenge of returning to their own countries and companies with a set of actions that will contribute to the growth of international trade across all borders." GTDW 2014 was the first to be held under the patronage of the UAE Ministry of Economy. The mega-trade event was addressed by over 120 prestigious speakers, all leaders in their field, including a keynote speech by Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri. The event opened with a Ministers and Trade Leaders VIP plenary, followed by four concurrent summits that covered ‘Global Free Trade and Special Economic Zones’, ‘Trade Finance and Industrial Development’, ‘Corporate Real Estate Leaders’ and ‘Global Customs and Trade Facilitation’. The Global Trade Development Week is a major annual international forum committed to increase knowledge, capabilities and dialogue between government and private sector trade leaders from over 90 nations to deliver international trade development. Global Trade Development Week engages political, business, academic and industry thought leaders to share best practice in global trade development through specialised concurrent trade summits. Linking key verticals involved in trade development Global Trade Development Week creates bilateral, regional and multilateral dialogue between governments and the private sector. Trade doesn’t exist in isolation – Global Trade Development Week gathers trade leaders across business, banking, customs, corporate real estate, development banks, FDI, free trade, infrastructure, insurance, investment, multilaterals, risk, specialised economic zones and regions, supply chain, logistics and transport. The ambitious programme hosts 120 leading speakers and includes the Ministers and Trade Leaders Plenary, 4 concurrent major trade summits, site tours, networking receptions and a leading trade exhibition. |
