Yemen and Denmark have discussed efforts in combating terrorism and piracy acts off the Somali coast in spite of the economic crisis and the limited resources Yemen undergoes.
This came during a meeting gathered Chargé d'affaires of Yemen to Berlin Walid Alethary and Jens-Otto. Horslund, Head of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Department at the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the sidelines of the Ministerial Meeting on Somalia held on 19-20 November 2014 in Copenhagen. Alethary briefed Horslund on procedures taken to complete the Gulf initiative terms and the National Dialogue Conference (NDC)'s outcomes, noting to the formation of the new government of technocratic according to the Peace and Partnership Agreement, which was signed on September 21, 2014. The meeting also touched on the economic, political and security challenges facing Yemen as well as the humanitarian crisis displaced persons suffer from. They also reviewed means of enhancing cooperation between the two friendly countries and sides of support Denmark offers for Yemen within Yemen Friends' group. For his part, the Danish envoy affirmed the keenness of his country to provide support to Yemen during the coming period. |
