President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi said, during his press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin, they attended the ceremony of signing memos of understanding to establish a nuclear zone in Dabaa area and also to establish investment zones.
For his part, the Putin thanked Sisi for inviting him to visit Cairo and also thanked the Egyptians who warmly welcomed him in Cairo streets.He also invited Sisi to visit Russia to continue consultations. Putin said the talks focused on economic cooperation which, he said, upped by 80 percent thanks to the increase of Egyptian agricultural products and the increase of Russian oil products to Egypt, pointing out that Russia last year exported to Egypt oil derivatives estimated at 1.4 million tons. The Russian President said he discussed with Sisi cooperation in the nuclear and space domains and the possibility of establishing a nuclear plant in Egypt with training Egyptian cadres in the scientific field. The Russian leader said an agreement was reached on promoting cooperation in the small and medium enterprises, pointing out that there are 400 Russian companies working in Egypt now. Putin said the number of Russian tourists who visited Egypt last year hit 3 million with a 50 % increase due to stability in Egypt. Putin added that his talks with Sisi also tackled efforts to confront terrorism and settle the Syrian crisis through talks between the representatives of the Syrian government and the opposition in Moscow. |
