Investment Minister Ashraf Salman said that the Egyptian government is working on raising the growth rate to 4% in the current FY.
During his inauguration of a production line of a factory affiliated to a French cosmetics company, the minister asserted that Egypt has human and natural resources as well as raw materials needed for investment, adding that Egypt is the focal centre of interest for all multinational companies in the world. Meanwhile, Salman asserted that the French factory is considered the company's first factory in the Middle East and Africa with investments of 50 million euros, pointing out that the factory employs 300 Egyptian workers. Salman also announced that the government is seeking to settle 25 bitter investment disputes before the holding of Sharm el-Sheikh economic conference, adding that 14 disputes had been already settled, and the other 11 disputes are currently being considers. For his part, ?French Ambassador in Cairo Andre Baran said that French companies and investors will strongly partake in Sharm el-Sheikh economic conference slated for next month. |
