His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi held talks on bolstering fraternal cooperation, strategic relations and matters of mutual concern for the two countries, as well as on the latest regional developments.
The talks were held at Ittihadiya Presidential Palace where el-Sisi received H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and members of his delegation. H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed shook hands with Egyptian ministers and senior officials, while el-Sisi shook hands with sheikhs and the UAE senior officials accompanying H.H. Sheikh Mohamed to Cairo. President el-Sisi welcomed H.H. Sheikh Mohamed and his accompanying delegation and the visit which is part of the close fraternal cooperation between the two brotherly countries and their peoples. His Highness the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi conveyed to the Egyptian president greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his best wishes for the success of the Egyptian leadership and for further prosperity, well-being and progress of the Egyptian people. The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, and H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister. During the meeting, the two sides discussed key matters such as political, strategic and economic coordination, as well as bilateral cooperation on a number of matters of mutual concern for the two countries and the region, namely the ideological and security threats and extremism of terrorist organisations. H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed emphasised that the growth of relations between the two countries to high levels is aimed at achieving their common interests in the service of the two countries and the whole region. He noted that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is keen on extending bridges of fraternal cooperation and enhancing bilateral cooperation with Egypt in all spheres towards further progress and growth. He renewed the UAE's stance and political, economic and developmental support for Egypt and its people to enable them to fulfil their aspirations for stability, development and construction. He further noted that supporting Egypt at this historical juncture means supporting the state, history, civilisation and future of Egypt. His Highness the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi said, "Egypt is the real safety valve for the region because of its strategic and security weight for all the peoples and states of the region." On his part, the Egyptian president requested H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed to convey his greetings and best wishes to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and expressed his best wishes for further progress, development and prosperity of the UAE. |
