Up to 374 vessels transited the Suez Canal in both directions during the first week after the official opening of the New Suez Canal on 06/08/2015.
The north-bound convoy included 191 ships while the south-bound convoy included 183 vessels, according to a statement by the Suez Canal Authority. Head of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) Mohab Mamish said that this number of vessels proves that the New Suez Canal has started to achieve its goals. |
