Investment Minister Ashraf Salman took part on 23/8/2015 in the second meeting on investment and development in Upper Egyptian governorates.
The meeting was also attended by Local Development Minister Adel Labib and the governors of Fayyoum, Beni Suef, Minya, Assiut, Sohag, Luxor, Qena, Aswan, New Valley and the Red Sea. Salman said over 200 projects were presented at estimated investments of EGP 800 billion. He added that Upper Egypt's governorates contribute to approximately 15 per cent of the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Many businessmen, investors and officials of investment and industrial areas in the 10 governorates took part in the event. The meeting was held in preparation for an investment and development conference in Upper Egypt which will be held in the Red Sea in September to discuss the opportunities of investment and development in the southern governorates. |
