Caretaker Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab met on 14/9/2015 three German delegations to discuss ways to promote cooperation in various fields.
Mahlab met head of the Bundestag's Committee on Economic Affairs and Energy Peter Ramsauer. During the meeting, Mahlab stressed the depth of Egyptian-German relations and praised the German government and business community, Cabinet Spokesman Hossam al-Qaweesh. He also welcomed the German investments in Egypt and lauded Germany's keenness on participation in Egypt's Economic Development Conference (EEDC) in Sharm El-Sheikh last March, Qaweesh added. Mahlab briefed the German visitor on recent economic developments in Egypt and efforts made by the government to attract more investments. The two sides also discussed ongoing preparations for completing the last phase of the country's road map by electing the House of Representatives. For his part, Ramsauer said the Bundestag's Committee on Economic Affairs and Energy seeks to support and strengthen these relations with Egypt. Many German businessmen and companies are looking to pump more investments in the Egyptian economy, as President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the Egyptian government represent elements of stability in the region, he added. Mahlab also met members of the delegation accompanying Ramsauer that included representatives of major German companies operating in Egypt and other companies planning to invest in the Egyptian market. The caretaker prime minister also received members of the German Arab Chamber of Commerce to review areas of cooperation and projects scheduled to be implemented in Egypt during the coming period, along with ways to overcome challenges facing the work of some German companies in Egypt. |
