A total of 42 ships transited the Suez Canal in both directions on 14/9/2015, carrying a total cargo of 2.184 million tons, said Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority Mohab Mamish.
The south-bound convoy included 22 vessels, while the north-bound convoy included 20 ships. Egypt inaugurated a new Suez Canal on August 6. The New Suez Canal will massively increase the capacity of the existing canal and offer an important opportunity to boost the country’s economy. |
