President Abdel Fattah El Sisi reviewed measures to establish specialized industrial cities and zones at a meeting with Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Qabil.
A new industrial zone will be established in the Upper Egyptian governorate of Minya, expansions to be carried out in the industrial zones of Quweisna of the Delta governorate of Minoufiya, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef quoted the minister as saying. The projects come as part of a ministerial plan to provide land required for all industrial activities, he added. Qabil also briefed the president on the outcome of an inspection earlier in the day to Cairo’s Al Robeiki area, specialized in leather industries, the spokesman said. The meeting also discussed the ministry's efforts to revive the automotive industry in Egypt and measures to set up a new industrial complex for furniture in Damietta, he added. President Sisi asserted the importance of maintaining efforts to encourage investors and easing measures for them with the aim of stabilizing a variety of industries serving the industrial base in Egypt. |
