Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is set to arrive in Paris, for the first visit to Europe by an Iranian president in almost two decades. Rouhani will meet with French President Francois Hollande to sign a number of agreements regarding cooperation in the fields of investment and transportation, the French presidential palace said in a statement.
Meanwhile, French media expected the two sides to discuss the Syrian crisis and the tension between Saudi Arabi and Iran due to the recent attack on the Saudi embassy in Tehran. Iran is also expected to sign a deal on buying 14 Airbus planes, after decades of imposed sanctions on the country. Moreover, the French cars company PSA Peugeot Citroen will discuss their job opportunities in Iran. Rouhani has started his European tour in Rome last Monday, where he met with Pope Francis of the Vatican and Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi. |
