Minister of Finance of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg Pierre Gramegna met with HE Qatar's Ambassador to the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani.
During the meeting, Gramegna praised Qatar's efforts to diversify its economy and move from its dependence on natural resources such as oil and gas to other sectors related to financial services, logistics and information technology. He said Luxembourg shares with the State of Qatar awareness of the importance of innovation and diversification, hoping that mutual cooperation would contribute to increasing future employment opportunities and the exchange of expertise, especially in the area of foreign investments. For his part, HE Qatari Ambassador described Qatar-Luxembourg relations as promising for further development in light of the growing importance of external financing in the achievement of economic growth and development. |
