The Cabinet, under Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, discussed the tasks assigned by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to the new government.
Ismail said the government will adopt new ways for securing needed funds for projects, reducing budget deficit and increasing resources. He said ministers will keep in touch with the media to transparently post the public on achievements and challenges. During the meeting, the premier said that the ministry of public business sector was reinstated to realize the optimal benefit and restructure State-owned assets to alleviate the burdens of the State budget. Ismail explained that the government is aware of the responsibility it shoulders and will work on expediting the accomplishment of various projects. The meeting also reviewed the plan on economic and social development for the fiscal year 2016/2017. The plan aims to achieve a growth rate of 5.2 percent, compared to 4.6 percent in 2015/2016. |
