Egyptian President Abdelfatah Al-Sisi and visiting Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud held Friday an extensive meeting attended by senior officials from both countries to discuss future prospects of the two Arab heavyweights.
In a press statement, Egyptian Presidency Spokesman Alaa Yusuf said that both leaders have underlined the uniqueness of relations between the two countries and their shared destiny. During the visit, President Al-Sisi expected that King Salman's visit would give impetus to cooperation in various domains, citing as evidence the numerous cooperation the agreements signed between the two countries. He emphasized Egypt's keenness to consult with the Saudi Kingdom with regard to regional and international issues of common concern. In this regard, both leaders agreed on cooperation to find peaceful solutions to the crises in Libya, Syria and Yemen. For his part, the Saudi King lauded the Egyptian government's efforts to achieve economic and social development and to meet people aspirations. He reiterated the Kingdom's full support to Egypt in all domains. He signaled the steadily progress in mutual cooperation. Following the talks, President Al-Sisi bestowed the Order of the Nile medal, Egypt's highest state honour, on King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia. |
