 Tourism Minister Yehia Rashed underlined the importance of the Egyptian media in general and the tourism media in particular in supporting the tourism sector and restoring its image before world countries.
During a meeting with the tourism writers board, Rashed highlighted the need to intensify media and promotion campaigns in the foreign media to clarify Egypt's image and restore the tourism sector which has been badly affected over the past years. He pinpointed the importance of dealing directly with tourists via internet channels as well as opening up new markets of tourism. Meanwhile, the minister welcomed cooperation with the Tourism Writers Association in order to improve performance of the tourist journalism as well as implement training programs to support the tourism industry. The minister also asserted that work is underway to settle problems facing investors in the tourism sector and adopt the e-marketing approach to accelerate the performance of the sectors. A campaign will soon be launched to support the workers of the tourism sector in Luxor, Aswan, Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada, added the minister. |
